Beat the Summer Heat on the VOA Lake!

Did you know that you can rent up to 4 kayaks at Voice of America MetroPark? Whether you're looking for a calming retreat on the water or a fun summer adventure with your friends, renting kayaks at VOA is easy and can be done right from your phone! 

Getting Started

To get started, simply download the Rent.Fun app to your phone, select the Voice of America MetroPark as your location, pick one of the four kayaks in the self-service lockers, and then input your credit card information. Once payment is confirmed, the locker will unlock, and you can grab your kayak, paddle, and life jacket! 

Launch Your Own Kayak

Once you get your kayak from the locker, carry it to the new adaptive kayak launch, and you are ready to go!

In 2021, MetroParks opened an adaptive kayak launch which is free to use. The ADA-compliant launch utilizes a series of ramps, handrails, and platforms to assist those with varying mobility needs to launch canoes, kayaks, and other hand-powered watercraft into the lake.

The Details

• All rentals are $15 / hour 
• You must be 18 years or older to use Rent.Fun equipment
• One person per kayak maximum
• No pets on the watercraft
• No swimming in VOA Lake

When you're done boating, return your kayak to the same locker unit and select "End Rental" in the app.
