Meet Lila! These are some of her favorite things to do in Butler County, Ohio.

When Lila isn’t spending her Saturday mornings playing baseball for the Joe Nuxhall Miracle League, she likes to keep her family on the move to many other inclusive spots throughout Butler County.
Indoor Activities
Lila loves visiting the Hamilton Lane Library in German Village. This branch is walkable from her home, and she enjoys finding new books and participating in their young readers programming. Lila loves attending their special activities and events, such as book readings by local authors, like Scott Smallwood, who wrote Monkey & Bug’s Night at the Corn Stand Jam.
When asked about why she loves her library visits, Lila shares, “I love the craft kits they give you to take home!” Lila’s mom takes the opportunity to peruse the seed library and soak in some quiet moments to herself, while dad looks for more books to add to his reading list.
Friday nights throughout the year, Lila and her family love attending Fitton Family Fridays at The Fitton Center for Creative Arts. These shows are shorter than most, and feature performances of new and classic stories. Reflecting on a previous performance Lila exclaims, “The shows are so funny, and we get to dance along to a lot of them, and I learned how to act like a PIRATE!”
She likes arriving early before each performance to have time to walk through the rotating art exhibits, especially when her older brother’s art is featured in the Badin High School exhibit.
Outdoor Spots
One of Lila’s favorite outdoor spots is the Fairfield Township Community Park on Morris Road. Lila loves the play structure that includes fun slides and climbing areas. The park is large and open, allowing for a lot of imaginative play. Her parents appreciate that the ground is turf, so they can use the park even after it rains without getting muddy. Two shelters with picnic tables are also available if Lila needs to take a break, or get out of the sun to cool off.
Speaking of cooling off, Lila is an ice cream connoisseur and declares the greatest to be Flub’s Ice Cream. “They have the best chocolate and vanilla mixed together,” she says.
Conveniently, Flub's has three locations and an ice cream truck that frequents local events. Whether she’s exploring Operation Pumpkin, the Joe Nuxhall Miracle League Annual Car Show, or the Hamilton Flea, you can be sure she's looking for the Flub’s ice cream truck— just don’t give her sprinkles, she's not a fan!
